RI APCO 25 reception

Has any one found out the best antenna to use for this system I am within the range of the providence and no. providence towers I am using a BC996t with a scanteena mounted approx 30' high any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Paul, if your intention is to monitor ONLY the RI 800 MHz system, then your best bet is an antenna manufactured exclusively for the 800 MHz band. I myself purchased the Laird roof mount 800 antenna from Scannermaster, but have yet to install it. Understand that all antennas are a sacrifice to a degree, but one made to the band that one wants to monitor will give you the best performance.
