This is fascinating! It's a really rare opportunity to get to look at the (nearly) complete system blueprints like this. I have a decent idea of what Motorola Smartzone racks look like, but I've never seen the EDACS equivalent. Just spent more time than I'd care to admit looking at the site photos and comparing them with the blueprints in your pdf. The IMC/Control Point photos are by far the most interesting.

Site photos are here: ITRF Consulting - City of Richmond

Anyone want to pitch in and buy it? :)

^ The above joke wasn't mine. Credit belongs entirely to radioreference to user 'mlangeveld.' Mlangeveld everybody, he'll be here all week! :)

Stupid Question: Were any of the lots purchased? I imagine the MW and radios went fast. What about the control system(s)?

You'd be surprised, those Glenayres will need upgrades to be relicensed due to their (lack of) density.

6 GHz licenses are hard to come by. They're likely just usable on their existing paths (at least in the area), and transferring the licenses may not be doable after the 1997 cutoff (again, without upgrades.)

Between that and the water intrusion I suspect this stuff is mostly headed for the scrap pile.

Your master site
It's all scrap unless someone needs some spare parts.

Nichol Knob is what's called a CEV. It's pre-fab, put in to a hole and then backfilled over. Many of the ones I've been in get water at the bottom. They're commonly used in the telecom industry.

The system was finally taken off the air sometime in the last month or two. Farewell Richmond EDACS...

I wonder if it's already been scrapped? I wouldn't mind having an EDACS system in my living room. ;)
