Listening to my local Motorola Trunked analog system i have TG 208 "west dispatch" programmed, i see RID 10494-West Cover Car, thats how i programmed it in as a "PC-private TG but when my RS106 lands on that RID on TG208 all i see is "RID 10494 ", on the last line i do not see the text...Must be some error in my programming ??......TY......PS: Works perfect on my 396XT...

Are you manually selecting the talkgroup or is it scanning and stopping on the talkgroup while it's active? The RID alpha tag will not show if you manually select the talkgroup. Instead, it will only show the numeric RID. It must be scanning and stop on the talkgroup while active to show the alpha tag of the RID. And, to hold on the talkgroup and still show the RID alpha tag, press the PSE (pause) button instead of MAN. Also, make sure the PC talkgroup is set to the correct scan list. I hope this helps.

Not true. Either my 106 or 197 will show the alphatag for the RID when pressing MAN on the scanner. But, I don't manually program the radios. I use software.

Absolutely True..in MANUAL Mode they will not show..you just see the RID number..
In PAUSED mode it will..
My 106 will not show TG alpha's Or RID Alphas..when set to manual..
drives me batty...all the work put in to tag my RID tags are useless in
manual mode..
it seems the 106 will lose the signal after a bit when paused..so ill use
manual instead for those l-o-n-g barricade situations,,or suspect searches..
just holds better in manual,,in my opinion anyway..
PSR800 Dose show them in manual mode...and the way the 800 process
the packets,,it will shift ID from user to user instantly on their keying up..its
fantastic!..
i also use win500 to prog my 310,,and 106..

One thing I've noticed with my 197 when monitoring an edac system on in manual mode it will show the ID's. Scanning it will sometimes show the ID. It only will it the scanner stops on that TG right when someone starts taking but however when it does a priority sweep it losses the ID.
Yes, i was stopped in "Manual" on the TG-208 in the correct SList, when the RID 10494 came up it only showed the the RID and not the text...Its a family member and he is "West Cover" as written in the text, when he is working again i will stop on "Pause" and see how it goes....I think i will set up a couple more RID's with text and pause on them for trial and error...Thank You all....
"fourthhorseman" is CORRECT, i could not get the "RID" text to show up monitoring the TG in "manual", put it in scan and when TG became active pressed "PAUSE" , when the RID came up in pause worked perfect with text....Thank You....That is really a goofy way, Uniden works better!!
