I have noticed that I can hear what I could not. Rock A had alot of traffic on it. Turn around and Rock B seems to be inactive. They appear to be using Rock A and C for county traffic. I saw the fcc licsense for it and it appears they are re-doing their system in most places. Before, I could not hear noone but rock dispatch, once in a blue moon I would hear Newington. Being 8 miles away as the crow flies.

Major ROCK dispatch changes

You are correct, there have been major changes at ROCK. Formally ROCK C was a countywide tactical repeater. It has been renamed ROCK WEST and is no the primary dispatch repeater for units and stations roughly west of Route 125 in the County. ROCK A & ROCK B, formally independent simplex dispatch channels have been combined to form a new repeater pair known as ROCK EAST. Units and stations on a line roughly east of Route 125 to the coast are now dispatched on this channel. The old ROCK B is the input to the new repeater with the output being the old ROCK A.

Finally ROCK is rolling out a major in-cruiser laptop system available to all agencies which will eventually remove much routine radio traffic as routine calls and m/v stops will be dispatched via laptop.

I spent hours-weeks on cruising Rock towns, blew my mind when I could not hear Northwood talk, and I was close by. Other times I'd cruise thru Rock, and have to watch the road instead of seeing who was talking. I then learned I.D's . then, there they are-repeater. Oh well, thanks. Ron
