How are public safety operations conducted in the county on this system? I know that some of the cities have combined police/fire departments, but in terms of countywide fire support, how does it work in the county? What's encrypted and unencrypted? I think law enforcement there is all encrypted, what about Fire/EMS and who provides coverage where in the county?

Rockwall and Heath are dispatched by Rockwall PD, while Royse City, Fate, and Mclendon Chisholm are dispatched by the Sheriff’s Office.

Heath and Fate are combined fire/police.

As for fire support, Royse City has Fate and Rockwall as automatic mutual aid, Fate has Royse City and Rockwall for auto aid, Rockwall is just the whole department dispatched, Heath auto aid is Rockwall (and maybe Mclendon Chisholm??), Mclendon Chisholm is Royse City and I believe Rockwall and fate.

As they started using encryption, I moved to OKC, but as of April 1st, all primary Law Enforcement channels are encrypted. Heath is partially encrypted with I think the dispatch being open. Fate and Heath’s main channel is used by both Fire and PD, but only PD radios are using the encryption.

All cities have their own department and EMS countywide and dispatched through a contracted provider out of Texarkana I believe.

DPS doesn't have a dedicated Trooper or Sgt area for Rockwall, you will see them on interstate 30 through Rockwall as they drive to/from DPS Garland which is where they drop off evidence. I know Hunt, Kaufman, and Van Zandt counties each have a single Trooper per county.

DPS Garland is where those counties are dispatched from, the dispatcher multicast on DPS Garland, Greenville, Kaufman County TRS. Some Troopers will use local county sheriff dispatch channel if they are not in range of a DPS tower.

Okay. I know back in the day on VHF 155.4600 / 154.6800 they were on there 13xx but now that's changed. I'm wondering also if they use encryption on the Rockwall trunk site some the S.O shows E. ?
