I've set up a system for listening to Roseville and Sacramento's P25 trunked systems using SDRTrunk and Trunking Recorder, which allows me to easily scroll back in time to listen to any radio traffic that I may be interested in. I don't have EVERY talkgroup in both systems recording, but I do include all of Roseville's un-encrypted police traffic that I am aware of, from the talkgroups listed in RadioReference's database. This includes two patrol talkgroups, two tactical talkgroups, and an investigation talkgroup. I see there are three encrypted talkgroups, but I obviously don't record them and only see traffic on them if I happen to be LOOKING at the time of their use. This morning, I heard a police officer asking another to change over to the "Training Channel". I heard no further traffic. I wasn't listening live, so it may have been one of the encrypted talkgroups. Does anyone know what talkgroup is referred to as a police training channel? It isn't that I really care to listen to training traffic, it is just a curiosity if it is a newly added talkgroup or what.

I'm not too familiar with Trunking Recorder but SDRTrunk should allow you to go back and look at the system logs, File > Logs and Recordings. You could possibly look at the logs and see what "unknown" talk group that radio ID affiliated with around the time you heard that radio traffic.
