How about a 'how to', 'help', or 'faq' for new users to obtain info from the database? I read what is there but it doesnt mean anything.

It would be nice to have it on the banner between Database and Wiki .
In the meantime , I'm sure other members could field your questions related to data transfer.

I thought this site already had an FAQ...Welp it never hurts a site to add an FAQ for folks to reference to.Lots of folks here are always available here though with a polite and to the point answer. :)

If it is there, it does not have high visibility.

My thoughts were to have something high-profile .
When you first come to this site , you feel like you've struck gold.

Some people are shy and lurk first, and may want to do their own research before jumping
in to the forums.
If they can't see FAQ in front of their eyes , there may be some frustration in trying
to locate a basic concept that they don't want to be-leaguer forum members with.

I suggested something similar to this ages ago. Something that newcomers would get that explained some of the basic features of the site, but the masses quickly shot that idea down. They prefer the question and answer game in the forums.

I am a little confused by this, the first thing on the home page is this paragraph:
RadioReference.com is the world's largest radio communications reference website, with complete conventional frequency assignments, trunked radio system information, frequencies, and talkgroups, FCC License assignments and maps, 10-Code Lists, agency maps, files, downloads, links, and detailed agency information for most public safety, military, and local government activities. All of this can be found in the Radio Reference Database.
Clicking on that link brings you to the database section. From there a click on a section of the map starts you on your journey. How can a FAQ expand on that?
