MILAIR scanning isn't easy like Fire/Police/ EMS, there is NO constant chatter. Unless you are one of the lucky one like TINEAR who live's close to a major base. ;-) He still has to search for new freqs. Everyone think's putting your scanner in the search mode is boring. This is very true!! How else will you find new freqs unless someone who search's for new freqs share's what they find.
The link I posted above will give you an idea what MIGHT be happening in your area. Map Query I enter Jacksonville as the ARTCC and FL. Scroll down and hit map update. Your map will change with various MOA's and range's in various colors.
Scroll on down and what's active in your state will be listed.

I started building my MILAIR dB by programming the Jacksonville and Miami Center freqs within a 200 mile radius of my home. Jacksonville went into Bank 1 and Miami in 2. Bank 3 had the Navy and Air Force base's plus major local airports.
Bank 4 was any freqs I had for squadron's at these base's.
Bank 5 had MOA's and bomb range's.

Bank 6-10 took awhile to fill up.
You have to remember this was before the internet and PC's,my dB was a notebook and #2 pencil.

Tweny-five plus years later my dB contains 6,000 plus freqs. I have about 4500 ID'd by either user or function.
When I say user it's ID'd like the 33d TFW at Eglin AFB or VS-22 at NAS Jacksonville.
Function mean's ARTCC or Approach/Departure.

Guy's it's kind of hard to help anyone get started unless we know where you live, not just county and state. If you live in Lick Lizard, MO this doesn't tell me alot, but 150 miles South of St. Louis helps. If someone ask for help and their profile doesn't list a city or town, guess who get's no help. Some will say this isn't fair, why should I have to track down where you live. Tell us how many mile's to the nearest military base or major airport. Jacksonville IAP,Fl. has a squadron of F-15's with a NORAD mission and the other side of the city is NAS Jax. The base's in my area are all atleast 100 mile's away!!
My antenna's are not 100' up. My tallest antenna is about 20'.

That sounds pretty slick! Are there instructions on how to do this anywhere? Is this something Lindsay would have to configure?

Thanks!

Yes, although the instructions need some updating - the latest database software changes changed the spot where the subids - you'll see them mentioned at the bottom - can be found...

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/RR_Wiki_Extensions

Instead of the blue brackets, hover your mouse over the blue box with the arrow in it in the various db entries.. You will see an ID number displayed. That number is the one you would use to build your links. Unfortunately I don't have any good screen capture software at the moment on this pokey laptop, otherwise I'd take care of this...

The only thing that Lindsay - or one of the admins - would have to configure would be the CSV download. Not every agency is available yet, altho I heard from the ole chief bottle washer (hi Lindsay) that this is on the list of things to be done.
