RS PRO-107 KEEPS TIMING OUT

Hello all,

I have a Radio Shack Pro-107 scanner. I have had it for less than a year. I just updated the library on the SD card and rearranged my channels. Now while following the SFPD after anywhere from 15 mins to 1.5 hours it stops picking up transmissions. It says it is still scanning. San Francisco PD is very active. When it stops I wait a bit to make sure then I back out to the main menu and engage the scanner and it works for a bit.

Please advise?

I figured it out!

After a year of wanting to throw my scanner at the wall I have found the solution.

A trunked system like SAN FRANCISCO CITY AND COUNTY that has more than one "site"; Like one for emergency services and one for public works. I made a bank for each and selected the site for each bank.

Even though I made a bank for each, It was the same system. Seeing how I live less than a mile from Christmas tree hill (location of both transmitters) one must of over powered the other and caused the receiver to timeout.

The solution: I still have two banks one for EMCOMM and Public Works, but I have selected only the EM site. Now it works like a charm.
