I'm trying to get the rtl sdr v4 to work for watching TV. I know i need to change to the original drivers, I used a different pc, installed the original drivers and the sdr shows in blaze video and such. But it doesn't find any channels when searching frequencies. The driver seems to be working but when using an antenna I know works well (tested on set top box), it won't find channels. I'm assuming the v4 can't be used for this as it was released after sdrs started being used as a receiver and not a dvb-t tuner but has anyone got the V4 to work for this purpose?

Software tried:
1. VLC
2. Blazevideo
3. DVBviewer

Drivers tried: (from the internet archive)

Important notes:
Stuff like Digital TV, Cellular etc I've never been able to see on the waterfall with any of my sdr's with any antenna, on sdrsharp, making me think its the sdr's
However, hf, vhf, uhf (inclu 500mhz, used here in Australia) do show up, like fm and all the digital modes, but never DVB-T or cellular.

What tv (standard) are you looking to watch? Generally a dongle made for watching tv will come with a disc with what's needed. Pretty sure digital tv is almost 6 mhz wide and DVB-T was phased out and replaced with DVB-T2.

In any event, the standard DVB-T dongle (that comes with a remote) supports Watching DVB-T digital TV and listen to DAB and FM radio and has full DVB-T bandwidth reception (at 6 / 7 / 8MHz)
