Seems like quite a gizmo. I have been using WXtrack for years. The serial port will control a host of alt/az mounts for dishes and arrays.
I have a 1.2 meter dish with an affixed VHF/UHF Yagi and it can follow such as ISS, AMSAT and others.
The prerequsite is keeping the TLEs up to date.
I guess if you wanted to go portable or mobile, this little box would come in handy.
It looks nice, i think i will try it out. I'm using SatPC32 at the moment but i am not a fan of it's GUI.I use this program with my 9700: Satellite Tracking - Official app in the Microsoft Store
It works well, especially with the sat mode in the radio. I know it can control rotators (vertical and horizontal), but I don't have any at the moment.
Targeting a specific satellite, yea. I manually tune then track. I can fine tune offset for doppler shifting.Do you tune the radio manually ? WXtrack does not appear to have CAT control for radios.
Thanks for the info.Targeting a specific satellite, yea. I manually tune then track. I can fine tune offset for doppler shifting.
I agree, just not sure what more it would get me when compared to a good software solution. I installed the software that @tweiss3 mentioned on post #4 and it works well. Since i'm not operating mobile i don't see a big incentive to use the S.A.T box unless i'm missing something.I saw one in use during Field Day last year. I believe it not only automatically controlled az./elev., but also auto doppler shift on an IC9700. Looked pretty dang cool to me!
