Query...

I know that there are a lot of folks who have Sailboats, Cruisers, Ocean Trawlers, Motor Yachts, etc, that run around on the Ocean and Coasts and such...

Where are they talking at?

Obviously I know about the amateur radio nets (*points to my call*,) but I'm sure that if they're equipped with Marine SSB Rigs, when you're out on the ocean and such, they have to get bored sometimes and strike up a conversation with other boaters, randomly, right?

I'm looking for the specific frequency range where I might be able to hear this type of stuff... Not sure exactly where to look though.

I'm in Ky, and I'm sure some of those signals are bouncing around the ionosphere somewhere, but I can't seem to find the mark.

And there are a lot of Marine SSB Frequencies to look through and potentially miss interesting conversations!

Here is some good info from Dockside Radio
Net / SSB Frequencies

Also check the common simplex freqs like 4146, 4149, 6224, 8294, 8297, 12359, etc. About 20 mins ago had some boats on the Pacific side of Mexico / Central America working 8294 USB.

Fishermen can show up anywhere. I tune in and around the maritime and aircraft bands to find them.
