SAME Programming

Not sure if this belongs in the Uniden forums or not.

I am trying to program SAME weather codes for my 396T. Apparently it will only accept FIPS codes to be programmed. I am living in Canada and the codes we use are different. Does anyone know what my course of action should be ?

It will not accept these codes. It needs to be a 6 digit FIPS code. Entering the 4 digit CLC code does nothing.

Any other canucks out there with the 396T tried to program SAME ?

I click on the code, then it displays a 6 digit cide, 0xxxxx. that should work. Freescan and Proscan give ao option for US or Canadian codes,

ok, thanks. btw, how did you know which region code I needed ?

I googled peterborough, that said what county or equivelant that was in Ontario. Then crossreferenced the 4 digit code which gave me the 6 digit code. also just got lucky, as Freescan said Canadian codes worked. The Canadian 4 digit was a blue link so I clicked and that gave me a 6 digit code.that said Peterborough .
