Hi, just curious if any other people who live in Santa Clarita can share any orgs or companies to scan/listen to? Not sure how up-to-date or accurate the listings are for companies, hospital, other & any orgs are on RR. I read through the forums on a search for “Santa Clarita” and discussion threads are pretty old. Just trying to get into the hobby and wondering what others may know about the area? I’m sure there’s plenty to listen to, and in the reference sections it does look like there’s a lot of DMR. Just a hobbyist looking to see what’s out there. Outside of police, fire, and the like. Maybe fast food, rail, ambulance. I’m using my scanner to scan blocks of frequencies to see what it might pick up. But my scanner is old so if many things have moved to DMR or NXDN then I may be out of luck to some degree. Thanks, if anyone responds! Happy scanning!

Check the Database here... There is a good amount of info. Magic Mountain, A lot of the School District Campuses, LA County Fire, LA County Sheriff Dispatch. You may want to invest in a modern radio... Depending on what you want to listen to.

If you have a scanner, start scanning freq limits like between 460-470, 150-160, 450-460 etc.. (You get the gist). I recommend you do some research before you pose your question...

Good Luck..

Add CHP to the list.

Also, scan the various itinerant frequencies, including the "dot" and "star" frequencies. Lots of interesting traffic pops up there from time to time.

There's also the FRS/GMRS channels and various ham radio frequencies.

My late older sister and brother-in-law used to live in Acton, just up the 14 from Santa Clarita. You should consider putting Caltrans in your scanner. They can be somewhat chatty about road conditions. When it snows on the 14 and 5 there can be a lot of action on the Caltrans frequencies. Coupling Caltrans with the CHP is good as there will be traffic on both sets of frequencies for the same incidents on the highways. I used to have both in one bank on my older scanners. In newer scanners with much more memory I put them in separate banks with nothing else so I could listen exclusively to each depending on the circumstances.

You might try 160.545 (AAR29) for the Metrolink Valley/Ventura Subdivision, especially during the day (commuting hours).
