Most K-9 Teams in Michigan use FRS and most are Ham Radio Operators. On our K-9 Team we use FRS, Ham Radio and we use a lot of cell phones as a lot of the information we need to talk about is not for public listening. Most K-9 Teams use the local Ham Repeaters.

Kent County K-9 Team-K9-1-146.445 simplex, K9-2,147.405 simplex, K9-3446.100 simplex, K9-4 446.15 simplex. The K9 Handlers do not wokk radios as they are busy working their dog. It is up to the flanker to handle navigation, communications etc. Local SAR Team frequencies will be used.
