Well after a solid week of running Etrunker on Sasktel Fleetnet I got a pretty good picture of who is left in the Regina area (system 1). If you live in other areas you may get TG's I don't get, and you may see TG's in this list you may not get. It's just how Fleetnet works.
The main players on Fleetnet are:
* Sask Power
* Department of Highways (Snow plows)
* EMS
RCMP are all disappearing to their new system. There are only 2 detatchments left that I hear now in the Regina area. Yorkton City and Stony Rapids. The other RCMP TG's have had affiliations but are RARELY used now.
Sask Power mainly uses I-Calls to communicate. Disconnections and load limiters are sent out VIA LID 1527 - collections department. Plus gossip between radio users are I-calls, they never "shoot the crap" on groups (especially if it's about the boss).
I heard many Snow Plow TG's, some of them just didn't give a hint to their location when I was listening to them.
EMS is still extensively using fleetnet. I-calls are a must to have as units communicate patient particulars to emergency departments VIA I-call. Dispatches go out through the groups though. Except for Moose Jaw, they patch TG 1637 (union hospital) and 1661 (Moose Jaw EMS) together to get patient information to the emergency department.
Lonely TG 892 is a strange one. This talkgoup has never had a keyup on it. One radio affiliates to this TG for time to time, but never talks on it. Mainly because there is no one to talk to. After years of watching this group, LID 829 is the ONLY radio to affiliate to TG 892. LID 829 only make the occasional phone patch. The last ones I managed to catch were strange at best. The only way I have found to follow phone patches on Fleetnet is by having Etrunker control my 245XLT. My 246T will not catch phone patches, as they must be different from I-calls on an EDACS system.
There are other misc. TG's on fleetnet. Here is the GRP file produced by Etrunker for the past week in the Regina area, and what I've been able to identify. Enjoy!
