Can you use a satellite tv diplexer to connect two scanner antennas to one or more scanners, or am I way off? (I have no knowledge of satellite equipment)

I assume you are talking about a diplexer for direct rebroadcast (DirecTV or Dish Network)? They are designed for mixing/splitting 12GHz sat signal and lower TV broadcast freqs, and they are used in pairs to mix/unmix the signals. This is so you only have to run 1 coax from outside when using a dish and antenna/cable TV.
