I am not receiving any communications on the below frequencies for Sayreville. I see they upgraded to the new P25 system to replace the legacy Motorola Type-II. Does anyone know if the new system is not in operation yet or are the Sayreville police channels being encrypted?

Thanks SnakeEater9920

That's what I thought the police transmissions are being encrypted. Fire and EMS are fine. Any tips on using the BCD436HP?

Tips? Keep the stock antenna on it. Myself and others have noticed it works best. Pretty much keep everything the same. Keep Digital Threshold Mode on Auto, and if you experience issues with any P25 digital system, turn the setting to manual and go to Threshold Level to move it around where it works best.

Other than that, It works pretty well out of the box. But every system is different, so if you haven't already, take a gander at the 'Easier to Read BCDx36HP manual' for more tips.

This question should really be in a separate thread since it has nothing to do with Sayreville/Middlesex County. I’m guessing you are programming in the VHF frequencies for Newark Fire...if so, they are no longer used. You have to program in the talkgroups on the NJICS system off the West Orange Simulcast site.
