Is there a common tac county fire uses for air to grnd with EMS helicopters ?

Is there a CALL or hailing channel for outside agencies to access CONFIRE?

What is the preferred operating talkgroup between Station 53 and Clark County Fire?

All FDs in the county will be assigned either EMS-1, EMS-2 or CALCORD depending on location in the county when it comes to air-ground for ALS Airships.
Both EMS channels are trunking encrypted. CALCORD is the only channel in the clear in VHF.

The BDC V1-7 channels, along with a new XBO V1 channel that will be utilized here shortly, are the “access” channels for outside cooperators.

3-CMD-6 is the talkgroup they utilize in 53s area.

Engine 53 (Baker) is always using an Air Ambulance, where is The Air Ambulance station at ?.
I hear When Engine 53 Requests an Air Ambulance on Tac 2-C-4, but never receive Radio Traffic of The Air Ambulance landing, They must be using a (Direct) Tac TG or a Big E TG.

They will get an airship from whoever is the closest available which could be from AZ, CA or NV. There’s multiple listed from each state that I won’t get into cuz there’s a lot but the closest stations to them are coming from either Jean, NV, Barstow, CA, or Pahrump, NV.
You hear them on 2-CMD-4 cuz 2-CMD-4 is patched with 3-CMD-6 and 3-CMD-9, they only utilize 3-CMD-6 though.
You don’t hear when they land due to them using an encrypted frequency like I described up above or they’re using CALCORD, which is used in direct mode most of the time.

When I was working there a few years ago, it was EMS-1 for Valley area A/G and EMS-2 for desert area A/G, however they are encrypted TG's as said above. CALCORD was a back- used to be the primary- A/G frequency. On the fringe areas, particularly AZ area, VFIRE21 is the main A/G channel used for medical helicopters.

We have gone away from VFIRE21 as an A/G for ALS Airships even in the South Desert Division 4. Now CALCORD is utilized for any airship that is coming from a different state as they don’t have those EMS channels built into their radio codeplug.

Since there are no VHF access repeaters in the NE part of SBCo, the fire dept pays the monthly service for a handful of CCFD radios to have access to the SBCo trunking system on 3-CMD-6. Seems like CCFD R87 is the only one that ever actually uses it though.

They have since added a VHF repeater out there, channel is BDC V4 for Baker area

Thanks
When I was working, A2G was a thing, I was the dispatcher and in Yuma we used Vfire21 because everyone was on 800 and you never knew where you would get a helicopter from, EL Centro, Yuma, Parker, or Phoenix. Some had the Wins some did not
It was always a few steps, and the IC did not know his own capability so I would have to help him.
Anyway YRCS has a dedicated A2G TG. BP uses it for LE and Fire uses it for HEMS. In the clear always

Yes dedicated A2G talkgroups are cool but don't work out so well if everyone isn't on the system. Hence - Baker Fire with NV aircraft and CALCORD.

CALCORD is used in 18, 21, 31, 32 , and 53s area while EMS-2 is for the deserts and EMS-1 is commonly used in the Valley/Mount areas. 40king or AR305-308 they will use the county tacs (Usually 2-TAC-4 3-TAC-6 and 3-TAC-9) For EMS/RESCUE

While the fire side is different using Federal, State and Local frequencies (To many to list, im to lazy)
