What is the DNR using for communications around the Chapin, Irmo area? Seen a truck today at the boat ramp and it hit me that I had not heard them since I moved here.

To the best of my knowledge, they are still on VHF. VHF is still actively used for dispatch around most parts for DNR. For that area, try 151.4150 with a 532 DPL, and also put in 151.4150 P25 with a NAC of 105. I don't know how often they utilize P25 though. PS Welcome to the area, from another East TN person.

DNR is now using the palmetto 800 p25 system. They are in the process of switching and currently using the ops and statewide talk groups but soon they will start using the dispatch talk groups witch are encrypted. the database has not been updated yet. Here are all the DNR talk groups.
