I am going to remove some rarely heard and/or uninteresting conventional frequencies from my SDS200 Favorites List to improve scanning speed. Does it make any difference to the resultant scanning speed if I completely delete the frequencies versus just marking them AVOID?

Both will have the same result as far as scanning speed.
Some would suggest using avoid, since you may want to scan them again - someday, and not have to re-program them.

Note: I know you mentioned conventional. Since we are talking scanning speed improvement, remember that with trunking, you scan sites, so the more sites you scan, the longer it takes.

Do you use any filters? Those can slow scan speed depending on what’s selected.

Thanks. I will use AVOID for the reason mentioned
