If you purchased the DMR upgrade for the SDS100, make sure you leave a note taped to the scanner. If you return the SDS100 and replace it with a SDS200, make sure Uniden is aware that the SDS100 had the DMR upgrade so they can make it right with the SDS200. Different scanners require different upgrade keys.
Have not purched DMR yet. So you do recommend that I get it when i do get the new up and running? Thanks.

Order the new scanner without the upgrade. It is less expensive to install it yourself. The Cherokee County Sheriff has a DMR tac channel and Valleytown Fire also uses a DMR frequency with 2 channels. There are also a couple of DMR trunked systems in your area. I included the Cherokee County Sheriff and Valleytown Fire DMR frequencies in my favorites list file. They are programmed as DMR one frequency trunk (OFT) systems.

Good morning all! Just touching base after sending the SDS100 back to the factory. I have gotten the new SDS200 base/mobile in already, I've loaded the Cherokee Favorites List and downloaded the DMR upgrade.
Is there any other setup needed at this point?

If not, I would still like to get better/clearer coverages. The NCSHP is coming way much clearer than most any of the other communication (lower bands ??) that I'm receiving, especially on clearer days. Outside of this metal roof seems all sites comes in better also.
I was looking at the Moonraker MKR-11-533 but IDK what would be best to try.
Moonraker Ltd SkyScan VHF/UHF Receive Antennas - Free Shipping on Most Orders Over $99 at DX Engineering
Thanks!

You should get great coverage on the VIPER statewide system which has a site in Murphy. The metal roof isn't helping your reception. The higher frequencies have better penetration inside buildings that lower frequencies. A number of the conventional frequencies do not use repeaters. An outside antenna will definitely help.

Yes, the Viper is coming in very clear. I'll have to come up some sort of outside antenna setup for my situation and this area, hopefully without going thru a lot of hurdles and $$ . Thanks

Question if you have time. Since i have the sds200 now, I have read thru manual but still unable to understand exactly. Will steps for the Quick Keys on-off be the same as the SDS100 were, or no? Steps looked different to what I remember doing before on the 100. Thank you!

Quick key operation on the SDS100 and SDS200 is identical. It is also the same on the BCD436HP and BCD536HP, although those scanners do not display the Department/Site quick key status.

Welcome to the hobby!

You can use the metal roof to your advantage.

Run coax up and outside and stick a magmount antenna
Right in the middle of the metal roof.
You can thank me later on...

I would recommend LMR400 for your coax.
It has low loss.
Could you recommend a certain brand/model # and supplier maybe? Thanks
