I'm not sure what forum to post this, so I hope it is allowed. I scan in New Jersey.

I was wondering, if I was to plug a Bluetooth device into my uniden scanner's headphone jack, can I connect it to my Bluetooth speaker.

It says receiver, but does Bluetooth go both ways. Thanks.

I was thinking a device like this.....

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Ad...TF8&qid=1509550043&sr=1-17&keywords=Bluetooth

If this would not work, could someone please point me in the right direction to do this. Thanks.

it should work

my wife uses a bluetooth for her scanner. sends it to a bluetooth speaker.
it sounds great. you just have to set to volume so as not to distort on input to the device.
for the car we use a little FM transmitter to the radio.

Typical small devices like that one or similar are mostly receive with limited transmit to control the sending device like start, stop and pause. I have seen similar small devices like that advertised as send & receive without allowing for a larger battery to support sending for long periods.

There are too many devices available online to clearly recommend one over the other without trying them, because of the slippery slight of hand verbiage you will find.

I use one similar to what you linked to for getting my iPhone music into my car's audio system. Worked for 5-6 hours until recharge was needed and it would start, stop and pause the music so it had limited transmit.

I believe you need to look at the larger and more costly versions for scanner connection to speaker. I decided to stick with just plugging a 1/8 inch stereo audio cable between my scanner and line-in on my new vehicle. Vehicle does have Bluetooth built in which is nice for the phone. Maybe in the future I might revisit something other than the cable for the scanner.

Good Luck
Mike
