Scanner Filter

I recently purchased a par VHF Filter for use with my Radio Shack Pro 96, because my previous post using the attenuator on my pro 96. I guess I expected better results is this filter suppose to act as an attenuator, do I still need to use the attenuator on my scanner. Guess I am kind of confused, am considering sending back. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

152-153MHz only

The filter you've linked to is designed to filter only from 152-153MHz. It is not an attenuator across the whole band. Are you near a tower or source that is causing this type of interference?

PAR makes several different filters. I'm not sure why Universal Radio only carries one of them. Grove Enterprises carries five. The one you choose depends on the source frequency of the interference.
