Scanner GPS Virtual Control

Wouldn't it really cool if a vehicles GPS Display could somehow get tied in to a Uniden Scanner for virtual control? It would be like a remote head so that the radio itself could be installed out of site.
In my SUV the GPS Display also switches to other various systems like climate control and radio/cd controls to name a couple.
Anyone have some ideas on this?
