Scanner noises

Im using a spare Kenwood TK-780H for a scanner and especially at night I get this static and then loud buzz on some police frequency channels.
Some nights it gets so bad I just turn it off while I'm in the shack.
Is this trunked frequency or what in the world is it? Drives me nuts when it keeps coming back every few min.

Frequency i would have to dig into the computer to find the freq they are on as the radio is set for name and located in Iowa

More info is needed ie. Do you live residential or farming community, any close vertical communication towers, only interference on scanner, baby monitor, or any other device hearing it? Is it random or can you predict it? Day time, night time, does the buzz fade in and out, or constant, this will help. Harley kc9gld

Being a Kenwood 780 it will be VHF
Iowa is a big area

Static and a loud buzz could be anything from a trunked control channel to a poorly shielded light or outlet in your house.

Its a smaller berg definitely not a metropolis. But a farming community for the most part.
Towers just normal cell towers mostly that I know of. It happens a lot at night, no real pattern to timing, its only on the radio i have program to use as a scanner and almost always on a police freq.
Never hear it on my 2 meter ham freq radio. Day time I might get it now and then but at night its almost a constant at times. Its a static then I would describe it as a horn honk or buzzer sound.
Sometimes it stops for minutes and goes back to normal scan sometimes it will stop for a second or two and start again and just keep cycling like that till I turn it off.
As I was typing the same freq that it buzzed me on a sec ago I got the repeter report from it and then 2 seconds later it buzzed me again 🤔 and again I think its pretty much ALWAYS a Police freq

If it is more prevalent at night, is there a security light or street light close by, does it do it more on a windy or rainy night?

Could also be a MDT Mobile Data Terminal

It's probably a digital station that is too far away to hear normally but can be heard during enhanced tropo propagation which can happen often at night.

External j pole antenna. Live on a corner lot and closest street light is on corner opposite me.
Trying to get a short video of it but of course now it won't do it 😡

Yup thats what I loaded. Also put in a few farther away (20-25) miles away.
But ill go through and check it all again.

P25 is digital and not receivable with a Kenwood TK780 radio that could very well be your noise.
