I would not bother with that APP. You are a Premium Subscriber to RadioReference which gives you full access to Broadcastify.com which has a ton of Public Safety broadcasting.

You can try to send a message to the feed provider asking what they're using. The only scanner that supports simulcast is the SDS 100/200. Another option is the Unication G-4/G5.

For a home setup, OP-25 with a RTL SDR dongle and Linux also works amazing for simulcast and provides awesome audio. If you're not familiar with Linux or the command line, it will take a bit of a learning curve to install but it's totally worth it, is cheaper than a scanner and allows to you run multiple instances simultaneously.

Apologies, I was thinking KSPILOT536 was questioning more about the App as opposed to the radios the broadcasters were using. Maybe I need to read the thread titles better ;) .

I concur with natedawg1604. An OP25 setup, or multiple of them, is a very inexpensive and easy way to "get on the air".

I think that the BlueTail receiver would work as well, along with the already mentioned SDS series scanners & Unication pages.

Of course, there is also the possibility that the feed provider's location, either very close to one of the transmit sites, or at a location that works when a directional antenna is used, allows a scanner other than the SDS series to work. The feed provider could also be using a PC with one or more SDR dongles instead of a scanner or other receiver.

I've been providing feeds for years and any Uniden model with REC out works quite well. The best model so far in my experience however is the BCD536HP using WiFi. Nice clean audio as there are no cables involved. ProScan Radio Feed is my feed software of choice.

I agree. The BCD536HP and the SDS200 Ethernet connections provides the best audio quality because the audio from the scanner to the computer is PCM digital and no analog cables/connections and no sound card involved.

I'm currently using a 436 for my feed radio. I've tried several radios and hand held antennas, From a paper clip to a Yagi. Simulcast can be brutal. I've tried every square inch of my house (except kitchen and bathrooms). I refuse to use my 100 or 200. (They work great.) The 436 works but it can't be moved. I found a sweet spot with a mag mount 700/800 antenna mounted on a tiny tripod sitting on the floor. Move it 2 inches and it's garbled. Trial and error doesn't even begin to describe what I've tried.
