The Pro-96/2096 scanners have gone on a clearance sale starting today, this was really the workhorse for the DTRS system when it first came online and is still an excellent choice if your in an area without 700MHz control channels and/or ESK systems.

Even better yet the clearance price is $190.00 (for the Pro-96), remember folks this has always been a $500.00 scanner. Pro-2096 base/mobile remains $299.00

This offering is in-store only till supply lasts!

Sounds like the supply is pretty limited as well, both Ft Collins and Loveland stores so far are out.

It would seem that only the 16th Street store was/is selling them for that price because nobody else has that price as of right now.

Poor Management + Economy = Dead Circuit City

Then it would be full list $499.99 with a whopping 10% off. Liquidations sales aren't all that.

There are some predicting the shack could be heading down the road to reduction this year.

I could be pushing carts in the parking lot of walmart by the summer.

Things are looking pretty rough this year.

I read an analyst say, "Gee Circuit City, you fired all of your sales people, and hired untrained clerks, what did you think was going to happen to your sales?"

Somehow the Shack is still making money... We just spent 43 Million in cash to become the sole owner of Radio Shack de Mexico. I wish I got part of the 43 Million ;-)

I think RS is doing a pretty fair job of re-inventing itself. It's never going to be the RS that most of us remember from our childhoods (or that I worked for in the late 70's), but it would never survive if it didn't change.

Jim, It appears that the stores don't know about this. Is there something official somewhere? The web site does not display the 96 any longer, only reference to the owners manual and firmware updates.

That and the fact they were always focused on high margin on every unit sold.

Some of these CEOs should have read Sam Walton's book.

I think I can count on one hand the number of times I have set foot in a Circuit City store. Literally having to tell one of their salesmen to get out of my face so I could browse set the tone with me years ago.

RS seems to keep on going. The guys at the Greeley Mall seem happier since the Sprint Corporate store across from them packed up and left on the 1st.

For what ever reason.... The price of 188.77 is only at my store.

Hope I can grab a 96 at that price. I can actually afford it.
Time to start traveling to the local Radio Shack stores.

I'll second that! I bought my Pro-106 from him and very happy. I only regret that my wife did not give in on the Pro-197 until Christmas day. Lucky for me I was able to jump on the website and get the last day sale price. Otherwise I would have been down in Erik's store.

Everybody should be buying from you anyway - couldn't get a better salesmen who knows the radio and what accessories go with it.
