I am using a BCD396XT and listen to Hamilton County no problem. I'm trying to listen to the SAFE-T system now and am getting mixed results. Located in Hamilton county so I pickup the Hortonville site and Boone county simulcast site. Hortonville give me full bars, Boone county is no bars (but I do hear plenty of traffic on Boone and Hendrix talk groups)... The Hortonville site seems pretty much dead quiet.

My main issue is that I'm not sure I'm actually hearing everything I should be... Also, it seems like I miss a lot (the beginning of transmissions, breaking up, etc.)

I've downloaded the configuration straight into ARC-XT Pro direct from RR. Please feel free to ask for any additional information that might help diagnose my issues.

So... My question is really about the configuration. What should my System "Delay Time" be (and what does that do). What should my p25 wait time be (both on the system and on the sites). What is "Edacs SiteType" and should it be set to "Wide(standard)"?

I've attached screen shots of the System and Site configuration screens (hopefully that helps)..

Firstly, EDACS does not apply to the SAFE-T. The Hamco system is EDACS. SAFE-T is pure Motorola II. Make sure you have the rebanded tables set for the SAFE-T. Use the CC only configuration when entering the SAFE-T in. You may also want to add the 3 Marion County sites to your scan pattern as well. (I am able to get some hits off them in Arcadia, as well as Noblesville, Westfield, Sheridan areas when up there using an old PRO-92)

As to the P25 settings, I am not familiar with how youd apply them to the SAFE-T.

OK. I did confirm I'm on the latest firmware. I'm trying to figure out the rebanded tables... not sure how to confirm that. Also,I'm not sure what you mean by "CC only configuration"... I just downloaded the sites and talkgroups straight from RR inside the programming software.

I'm confused (about a lot of stuff but...) about how P25 and Motorola II relate.

I reviewed this page: http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Rebanding
It indicates that my scanner, the BCD396xt is already setup for rebanding. I'm using ARC-XT Pro...

Do folks use the freeware normally? Maybe I should try that!?!
