I recently got a Pro-97 and it took me ages to figure out just how to scan my own county (Hays) but I could also pick up from as far away as Gonzalez, and I think I should be able to get David sector at least as it is pretty close to me, but: what do I do?

In Win97 under the channels tab I import trunked frequencies and have in the bottom right box all the talkgroups, but on the left side where the channels should be, it's all blank, so when I go to scan it's locked out, but if I import conventional then it fills up the channels. How can I scan a trunked system, or can I even pick up APD with this scanner??

Looking at the database, Austin PD is apparently moving to this system. This will be a full APCO-25 (digital) system, so the Pro-97 will not be able to monitor it.

For the time being, you might be able to hear some traffic on their conventional channels, until the move is completed.

Thanks Flash. The news entry in the database says the move was commencing, not complete, & obviously, I'm well out of system range to hear for myself. DFW to Austin is too big a stretch.

StorDuff, looks like you need to start saving for a digital scanner, if you want to hear Austin/Travis County.

No biggie, the problem is that the last news update is from February 2004 and nobody has updated the news or description info since then.
