I stand corrected. I was searching for "API", "USB Interface" and "Programmer's Guide". 'Control Codes' doesn't seem nearly technical enough. I don't mind being wrong and I don't mind admitting when I am. I've got the file and now I'm going to see if any of those commands work with the Radio Shack Pro-528.

I have a radio shack pro97 and I posted a while back about its programming and was told that it is propritary. The makers of software such as pro97 didn't seem interested in making a linux port, didn't even respond to inqueries about it.
I need to upgrade my scanner anyway becaue I moved a county north and they use digital trunking and my pro97 can only do analog so I may research uniden some and see. My bet is the USB is a simple USB serial conveter internally, anyone with a uniden already can you plug it in and do a lsusb -v and see what it says.

thats what I figured, so no need to write a driver, just need something that knows what to say.
