Time for my annual appeal...

It's that time of year again...school's back in session soon.

Time to monitor school district channel for buses and buildings to confirm frequencies and their CTCSS or DCS info.

In comparison to traditional public safety agencies, school radio systems don't get the attention they deserve.
Schools buses do play a support role in large emergencies for transportation of evacuees and personnel, and schools serving as emergency shelters.

In RSU 14 for example, they are now starting to use the old analog voice inversion scrambling for added security during transmissions

It would be great to expand the RR database with better data about school radio systems

Sad 35 bus/vans have been operating all summer in 464.950, pl 162.2....
Side note - I'm against school re opening.. I have 4 within 2 miles of me. Many germs!!

Berwick , aka hussey schools are using 155.220 pl 186.2.
It has been, and still is a simplex system..

Now's a good time to check with high school football you'll hear the custodians and admin talking on frequencies normally only in use during the school days.

Side note - busses give the best road report's for conditions, and crashes...
