As I have alluded to in other posts, the present data in RR.com DB has some problems. Since the only way we are going to get the correct information is to start getting valid information from the users around the state, I am putting out a call to those people in the state who can run Trunker to download Eric Cottrell's beta copy of Trunker (see this thread for a copy) and use it to decode any sites you have in your area.
Since the site numbers on the DB are incorrect, as well as many of the frequencies, I am taking the current frequency list and moving it up by 200. All present cell data will be 201+ and when new data, gotten from Trunker runs to verify the frequencies and cell site numbers, this correct data will be placed in the correct site number locations. I have already run this beta version of Trunker program on three sites and will place them in the lower part of the frequency list with the correct location and frequencies. I will leave, for a while at least, the "older" data as it is, except for changing the site numbers as specified above.
Even if you do not have a digital capable scanner, you can still do the Trunker runs (if you have the ability) on the sites near you and submit the data for site numbers, frequencies and locations.
As for the talkgroup information. There has been some comment that the lists are all wrong. Well, so far I haven't found an error other than missing some and poor organization which I have started working on. Of course being located in the NE part of the state, I cannot verify everything, everywhere, but if this list is ever to be accurate, we need to know about errors.
If you submit, frequency data from the trunker runs, it would be better if you could actually "cut & paste" the Trunker "C" type files along with location information. (e.g. 880aC13.txt is Summit)
If you submit corrected or new talkgroup information, please don't abbreviate (I was here for better than a week before I figured out that "INT" was Interagency
) as this just adds confusion. Also, do not submit TG that you don't know. For example, "17536 - some kind of police" is not going to be added to the data.
Thanks in advance to all who help out in this effort.
