Says " unable to load DLL'rtlsdr'.The specified module could not be found". The rtlsdr.dll is in the SDR folder, why can't it find it? Is it just that version?

There have been big changes to SDR# with this latest version, with much of it involving the .net framework that it's built on, and it's handling of RTL dongles. I haven't tried 1378 with an RTL stick yet (I only tested it on my AirSpy) but I read in another thread here that additional support files are now needed for RTL sticks. Basically it now works out of the box for AirSpy... support for other receivers has to be loaded separately. I'm sure someone else here will be much more up to speed on this than I am and will be able to give you better directions.

Thanks Forts, there is an install-rtlsdr install folder in this version, I ran it and reinstalled Zadig but that did n't do anything. I will wait and see if anyone else post, thanks again.

It seems as if Youssef is ceding the RTL-SDR market to HDSDR and the others. I hope somebody starts writing some good plugins for the alternative programs.

It's working here without issues. I did a "clean install" of SDR# 1378 yesterday, however, and it would not fire up because of some issue with the install-rtlsdr.bat file which was causing errors and didn't actually do what it's supposed to do for whatever reason. I deleted all that stuff from yesterday and did another attempt just a few moments before making this post and it installed and everything worked fine on startup. I still have the older version safely stored (meaning the last one before 1378) so I'll keep that around for archival purposes I suppose.

I have no idea where things are going with Airspy and SDR# but I do hope at some point all these petty issues between the two competitors gets worked out. I'm pretty sure I'll be getting an SDRPlay RSP in the coming weeks if possible - I had wanted an Airspy, really, but the RSP offers things that I find to be improvements over Airspy (it's not the lower price but that is a small part of it, I have to admit) so that's where I'll end up spending my money.

Either way, even if I can't use SDR# with the RSP in the near future that's fine, I still have traditional RTL sticks that should work fine with newer versions of it. SDR# isn't the only game in town for SDR software but it most certainly is one of the most capable ones because of the plugin framework and a lot of fantastic ones that have already been developed.

They aren't plug-n-play any more. Only the Airspy is supported natively.
