Does anyone have any suggestions for a good SDR receiver to use on VHF lowband and 6m (30-54 MHz)?

I'd like to use an SDR with a reasonably wide bandwidth for searching out signals (mostly FM, plus SSB on 6M) on lowband.

Oh, and I'd like to keep the cost under/around $500 :)

I'm thinking the new FunCube Pro Plus might be a candidate.

I own an SDR-IQ, so a downconverter is also a solution. Any suggestions on a downconverter for lowband?

Do you want good performance or just something to search with? The FunCube Pro is cute and covers a lot of frequency range but its not what I would call a good receiver.

I read that the new FunCube Pro+ is a better receiver than the previous model. I don't have one so I don't know if that is really true.

the 820t usb dongle board works in that range and is around 10 bucks from china

I looked and found that on eBay, it looks like it goes down to 48 MHz and maybe down to 40 MHz or lower. At least that includes 6M. Interesting, there doesn't seem to be much online on this particular version of the DVB-T tuners as there are on some of the other versions like the E4000. I have an E4000 based version which doesn't go that low. I'll have to get a 820t and try that. Thanks!
