I've been monitoring VHF/UHF/800 for many years. 800 is nerve-racking as always when I can't properly decode because of dodgy reception.

I have a Comet DS150S with a 65ft LMR-400UF split to 2 Nooelec NESDR SMArt.

On DSD+ I'm having to turn off auto tune and adjust the PPM at random because it seems to slowly drift. Even then the reception drifts in and out when it's not even windy.

Am I better off getting something like a low-profile mobile Laird designed for 700-900 and putting it on the pole as well? The link below might help.

Also, I did something to my 1R instance when monitoring my county Phase 1. Instead of FM by the frequency, it says PM. I have no idea what I might have changed. This isn't causing decoding problems because it's not the reason of the reception problems.

What I'd do is get a directional yagi and point that towards the tower you're wanting to pick up. As to your second question I don't know. I'm thinking PM means phase modulation. That may be an issue when it comes to decode ability with a NFM modulation.

Are you using temperature controlled (TCXO) SDRs? They tend not to drift very much.

I run nooelec dongles and don't really see any drift. I lay a pentium 2 heatsink over all 3 dongles..

I'll have to hunt one down. I know there's something in my area that has antiques.

Can you experts please correct ware my booboos are in my bat file? I'm trying to use TWO nooelec dongles for the first time I did the one dongle thing and it works. So I hoped to make a single .bat file to start everything I need but something isn't right yet?

Start FMP24 -i1 -o20001 -P50.0 -b12.5 -f855.7125
start FMP24 -rv -i2 -o20002 -P50.0 -b12.5 -f855.7125
DSDPlus2212.exe -fa -fr -rv -T >>cc.log

P.S what is the NUL cmd and the -OM used for?

Thanks

Output audio file channel count and name/type

Those commands (and all other) are in the Help file. I create and print an updated copy of it for each new version for reference and notes. You can create this file from a simple command but I put it into a batch file for each DSDPlus exe file.
In Notepad, I type:
dsdplus -h >DSDPlus_Help.txt
I then save as "Create DSDPlus Help.bat". I then go into File Explorer and rename it for the version number. I also have batch files to create FMP24, FMPA, LRRP help files.
There are a number of ways to do it but it works for me.
