Yesterday we had an unexpected power outage shutting down the computers. Fortunately my laptop has a battery and there was no issue there, my desktop not so much. When I restarted SDR Sharp (version 1324) it wouldn't run, got the message that there was no front end. I tried everything I could think of to get it going but to no luck. I ended up downloading SDR Sharp version 1326 and the Zadig driver, and all was wonderful again.

SDR Sharp version 1326 started out okay but quickly became problematic in that it will too often freeze up and the only option is to shut it down with the Task Manager. Just wondering if there is anyway to get SDR version 1324 back or is there a way to stop 1326 from freezing up? Thanks in advance for any help.

moonbounce, I can zip up version 1324 and send it to you if you want to send me a pm with your email address.

The file is around to 6MB.
Most of that size is zadig, so it's much smaller if I just zip the changed SDR# files.

But ...................
I've been running 1326 here and I haven't seen any problems.
I 'suspect' that you may see the same symptoms if you roll back to 1324.

Hello Rich

I have just deleted the version of 1326 and re-installed it, so far no problem, but I don't think it has been running long enough to give it the okay. I think what happened was that I installed 1326 over 1324, that is why I decided to delete and start from scratch.

I thank you for your offer and will take you up on that if the problem I had with 1326 come back to haunt me. Thanks again.

P.S. I still have your email address from the last time:).

Here's something I just happened to see.

I was playing around with 1326 trying to duplicate your problem, and I found that I could 'reliably' make it hang.

So, I ran it from one of my 1325 folders and recreated the same problem.

All I had to do to make SDR# hang, was to go to the Configuration popup window and change the 'Sample Rate' on the fly.

If I switched from 2.048 MSPS to 2.4 MSPS while SDR# was running, the spectrum part of the display hung up every time. It did the same thing if I tried switching back on the fly. (I didn't try all possible combinations.)

In the past, you weren't able to change the Sample Rate without stopping SDR# on most earlier versions.

Rich

Edit: I just ran version 1324 and tried changing the Sample Rate on the fly twenty times and I couldn't recreate that same problem there.

I wonder if 1326 has a stability problem? My new copy of 1326 seems to be running perfectly so far, but I am not as confident in it yet as I would like to be. Good news I have found a copy of 1324 on a USB drive I had stuck in drawer along with a couple of other older versions. Anyways, for now I will keep my phalanges crossed and see what happens.
