Just downloaded new SDR# version 1810. I downloaded the community package with plugins.

My favorite plugins are Frequency Manager and Frequency scanner. Does this new version of SDR# use the same files for storing frequency information as older versions of SDR#? In particular, the files named frequencies.xml; FreqMgr.db; scanner_entryes.xml. If so, where exactly do I place these files? In older versions of SDR#, they just went in the SDR# root directory. But doing this doesn't work with version 1810.

Yes, I tried putting the files there. It doesn't work. The program doesn't see them. If I create new frequency entries in the Frequency Manager plugin, it saves them, but I can't find out where this information is saved to.

One of my sdrsharp directories and sdrsharp latest version running.
Files stored exactly as they have been for several years.
the scanner logs and recordings are saved to sub-directories to keep things tidy.

So....same files...same locations...working fine.

I never use the bloaty community thing. This is latest standard sdrsharp with latest freqman and scanner plugins as modified by 'thewraith'

It turns out that when you install the Community package, there's a folder created named "bin". I put "scanner_entryes.xml" and "frequencies.xml" into this folder, and this is what ended up working. Putting these files in the SDRSharp directory, like I had done previously, didn't work for me. So, "put those files in the .bin folder" was the answer that worked out for me. The answer "In the profile you are running" really tells me nothing.

THAT has got to be a 'Prog' answer...might be OK at programming but let him loose to talk to people and he is rude and condescending most of the time.

Glad you got it sorted.Again it shows why it is better to not use the bloaty installer thing!

A "prog" answer? Yes. He's very knowledgeable, but he should realize that all manner of folks are going to download and use his product, many with no previous experience at all. Certainly he realizes that people are going to ask a lot of questions.
