Is the SDRPlay Plugin version 2.2 for SDR# supposed to work with SDR# version 1425? I got it to work in version 1415, but after installing it in version 1425, SDRPlay still doesn't show up in the radio source drop down list.

You're right, it doesn't appear. I was expecting this exact "anomaly" to occur at some point. The SDRplay plugin can only work if SDRblunt allows its presence.
I have both 1425 and 1426 and they work with 2.2 plugin for me. Have you tried 1426?
I have not tried 1426 yet. I tried installing the Plugin several times in 1425, and SDRPlay just doesn't appear in the drop down list for the radio selection.
I can't keep up with all the SDR# updates, it seems like there's about one a day. To me it's a PITA to update; something always stops working, plugins and data files go missing, etc.

It is in fact a PITA to keep updating. I started downloading every release since a bit before the licensing issues started a few years ago anticipating this precisely about support being broken for some devices. So, I keep a historical repository of everything for when SHTF again with another device. Have you checked the front end config file to see if sdrplay shows there?
I just updated to 1426 and SDRPlay does not show in the list for me either. I will be working on it.
EDIT .. Got mine working. Just had to edit the Frontends.xml file to add in the SDRPlay line.
Make sure you have this line ..
<add key="SDRplay RSP" value="SDRSharp.SDRplay.SDRplayIO,SDRSharp.SDRplay"/>

Cool you got it working. I am assuming the whole thing about it not showing on the front end config file is part of the issues of Airspy vs SDRPlay. But, i don't think I had to edit the file IIRC. I have not been successful at getting the plugins to work though. Also, the last few releases I've noticed some weird constant noise that is not evident on 1361.
I am going back to 1423 ... 1426 does not work on my pc. Fortunately I am a stickler for doing a backup and system image every night. That has saved me on numerous occasions. So .. back I go.
I would like to run the FrequencyManager+Scanner software, but it just hangs my computer.

I too, make backups of certain files, such as frequencies.xml, FreqMgr.db, and scanner_entryes.xml and keep them in a seperate location, as on more than one occasion I have had this data become corrupted, missing, or just disappear when upgrading to a new version.
**EDIT: Except that none of the Plugins will work when using SDRPlay.
