1. Remtronix makes multiple antennas, so a specific model would be necessary for anyone to give you advice.
2. Anyone giving advice needs to know the system and site(s) you are using to know which antennas may be right for you.
3. A single talkgroup has no bearing on which antennas to use.

For the APPSN trunked system, the REM-820S antenna is excellent for the 700 MHz frequencies. It is adequate on UHF but not all that great on VHF. The antenna is optimized for 700-900 MHz. It has the rubber O-ring to maintain water resistance. That is the one I use on my SDS100. My local and surrounding counties all use 700 and 800 MHz. For general coverage, you can use the stock antenna.

Any aftermarket antenna that has a wide range of coverage will outperform the original antenna that comes with the radio.

If you want to focus in on a specific system that is 7 - 800 MHz the REM... 7 - 800 MHz antenna is superior and it works okay on UHF and I believe now they do sell a 7-800 MHz antenna that is also tuned for UHF, it's similar to the previous antenna but a little longer but it will give you more gain.

We are throwing spitballs against the wall here since we don't know what system you're talking about, we do have your location where we can find the county you're in and maybe find what system you are using that's attached this talk group. The diamond is a good antenna depending on what you are looking to listen to.

There are people out there who stand by the original antenna and say it works best for everything, it's a mystery to me why they would ever say that LOL. Good luck.

By the way I use the Watson 801 which is a tad better than the original antenna which certainly can be used for General use. The Watsons a little bit better. Performs well on 7-800 MHz. UHF and VHF High. I have heard that the original issue antenna works well on VHF High. Not so much the best choice for 7-800 MHz.
