I am currently programming my SDS 100 for a trip to Houston. Hence, I am asking if anyone has a particular filter set that works well with large radio systems such as GATRRS in Central Texas and TxWarn.

I am well aware that filter settings depend a lot of variables including locations, antennas, etc.

So, generally speaking, is there one filter or several that work well on these trunking systems, particularly in the Houston and Austin Metroplexes? I am not wanting a significantly detailed explanation. Tips regarding difficult to receive sections of these cities might be very useful. Please, don't go to a lot of trouble to answer me. This is going to be quick and dirty. I have a lot to program. I am not using GPS or zip codes since I prefer using alert colors.

I haven't started playing with filters at all on mine so maybe I don't know how much it could help or if I even need help. That being said, mine as left to whatever the stock setting is, seems to work fine.

I'll check them out someday but from looking them up and seeing this post in particular, you might be fine just staying at the stock setting.

Wide Inverted and Wide Normal seem to work for the simulcast cells around me.

That is exactly the kind of response that will help me out. I will be in SW Houston, down the toll road from 290, turning left on Richmond to River Oaks Stereo. I might even program Fort Bend County, my old stomping grounds.

program a slot on your screen with the digital error count and adjust from there. At times I have had to switch from Inverted (my normal setting) to something else, but its usually location based and ill have to put it back when i go somewhere else.
