I do all custom programming from scratch and don't enter Tags. Custom 1 is the only service type I can enable in my SDS100 and SDS200.

I get all that and fully understand how it all works. Just surprised Sentinel does not block it out (like the scanner does) with the absence of any of the Custom 2-8 tags not in the programming.

I can't get custom 1 enabled on the
Enable Custom 1’ in your profile in Sentinel, then resend your list(s) to the scanner. Once you do that, you should see that this service type is now enabled when you check in the 200’s menu. That should also eliminate the Nothing to Scan’ message.

I think that is by design. The scanner may contain FL that Sentinel doesn't have. Let's say that there's a channel in the scanner with the Service Type set to Aircraft. There is not one in Sentinel so if the profile turned off Aircraft then that would turn it off in the scanner when written.
The scanner will turn off the unused Service Types when the FL is reloaded.

Custom I is checked. And still when I load the NXDN favorites list the screen says nothing to scan, I then push the system button no change, the dept button no change, the channel button shows all the normal information. I can scroll trough the channels using the knob. The channels are there and the avoids are marked properly. I still cannot get it to scan the list.

Customs stay unchecked
Customs stay unchecked

Are you guys reading the scanner, then turning Custom 1 on, and selecting download and monitor in the Profile editor?

I have many channels using that service type and never had an issue.

If using @ProScan , that too will turn service types used (Custom 1) on, as long as you actually have something set with that service type.

The Custom 1 service type in the profile editor is enabled by default when you first install Sentinel. If you don't enter a service type (Tag) when you program manually using Sentinel, the service type defaults to Custom 1. If you cannot enable Custom 1 in the scanner, that means all for the frequencies and talkgroups have service types other than Custom 1. If you attach systems from the database using Sentinel or scanning from the database, the service type (Tag) is included. Only the Dispatch service types are enabled when you first install Sentinel. You need to enable all of the service types to be able to receive everything. Unless you program any frequency or talkgroup with a service type of Custom 2 thru 10, Custom 1 is the only Custom service type which needs to be enabled in Sentinel.

I had the "nothing to scan" note on my screen a couple times. Like you, I had no clue what I did, or didn't do. Turned out that I had, somehow, turned off, or avoided the system that the group of frequencies I was wanting to scan.

I had to learn the shortcut of pushing the combination "numbers and dot (.) Buttons to turn off and on systems. I only program from the keypad so it limits my input errors. If I used a computer program the scanner would probably catch fire. Ha!

I think your issue is definitely related to the "nothing to scan" error.

Sorry if I made things worse for you.

All the avoids for the channels I want to scan are turned off so they should scan but still no joy.

I think I found the fix. I deleted the NXDN from the favorites list, then made a new one and as far as I can tell it is now working. Same list just removed and then made it again. ?????
Anyway Thank you all for your help.
