I think I am having the same issue. I get a RSSI reading of -40dBm. I thought I had an antenna issue and replaced the antenna. Is there something else I should check before sending to Uniden?

I have seen odd RSSI readings when using various filters. Turn your global to normal or off - any difference?

You should never see a "---" RSSI value while receiving a transmission.

I changed the filters. The same thing is happening no matter what I do. Restored everything and it is still doing the same thing. Talked to support on the phone, and it will be going back for repair. Thanks everyone.

You could power on your scanner while holding in the avoid button. When scan lists starts to load you can release the button. Now go to Menu and Settings and you will find a debug log option. Go there and select to save to SD card.

Now scan for a couple of minutes and then go to the debug log and turn of the save and copy all files there and zip them and attach to a post here.

It will show in that log if you have a cold solder joint problem. If not, then it could be a filter setting issue as the RSSI meter could respond to strong signals many MHz away from where you are monitoring.
