Hey guys,

I am scanning some digital frequencies in my area but I don’t know the NXDN ran or DMR color code so I haven’t set that. I simply have several entries listed and set as digital only. I used the FCC website and found the registered frequencies in my area. The problem is, I’m getting DMR hits from other entities on a couple channels unrelated to the NXDN channels that I want to hear. Is there a way to set digital frequency to search just for NXDN or DMR when you don’t know the code / ran. Hope I explained that well.

Thanks!

Have you looked in the database to see if ran and cc info is listed for those freqs? Or know who the other users are on those freqs and lock out their ran and cc.

They are not listed here on the database. I do have the cc of the channel I don’t want to hear. I’m fairly comfortable with sentinel and the settings on the scanner itself but wasn’t aware I could lock out a particular ran / cc. Can you advise where that setting is? Thanks!

That is where having PROSCAN comes in handy logging so you can go back and see what codes are used.
I do have PROSCAN I will try this route. Just wasn’t sure if there was a simple setting that I was missing to achieve what I was after. Seems like it would be useful. Thank you!

You can also do Function+Replay on the scanner to log all color codes and TG's to the SD card that gets active on the channels. To make it more easily to study the logs they can be moved to a PC and use UASP to manage them.

You can only lock out a TG or a frequency, not a specific ColorCode or RAN. Only way are to program a frequency 15 times, probably best to do in a OFT system using only one single site, and set one ColorCode to each channel and lock out the ones you do not want to monitor. The same procedure using RAN's.

You can't. Set lockout only works for CTCSS or DCS lock outs. You need to program the CCs or RANs you DO want to hear into favorites lists. If you leave digital code option as "search" you'll get transmissions from all stations on frequency within range to you
