BCD160DN/BCD260DN: Quick NXDN scanning question for BCD160DN

I am successfully scanning a NXDN commercial system near me using the "Digital Code Search" however that would also pick up DMR. Can I use "NXDN Area 0" to just scan NXDN? I tried using "NXDN RAN 0" but don't think that worked. Thank you

RAN = NXDN48 or NXDN96 (Nexedge)
AREA = IDAS
You need to know what flavor of NXDN you're dealing with and set the applicable tone(s) in order to not pick up DMR on same frequency(ies). Also the 160DN doesn't trunk track

Thanks. They are using Kenwoods so that must be NXDN? and they are just on simplex so not working with trunked signals. I have the RAN numbers for some of the signals I have decoded but I want the scanner ideally set to decode any other comms on their other listed frequencies and not decode any DMR which could be from other commercial systems further away and not part of what I am interested in.

I think we are getting off track. The scanner has identified these signls as NXDN. My question was if anyone understands the software for this radio and can recommend software settings that allow NXDN signals to pass to the radio but not DMR thanks

Set Audio Type to Digital and Digital Option to Digital Code Search. If frequency is NXDN, it will display the RAN which you will then be able to enter. Likewise, do the same to find NAC for P25 and Color Code for DMR. It will let you know the flavor of digital.

As I told you in post #2 you need to determine if said NXDN is NEXEDGE or IDAS then program in the applicable RAN or AREA code as the scanner detects it to discriminate signals from other stations operating on frequency

There's no way for a 160DN to openly decode just NXDN or just DMR. Setting it to "Digital Search" gets all digital signals to pass through, like it or not. Only way to achieve this would be to upgrade to a trunk tracking scanner (325/996p2, x36HP or SDSx00) pay for the applicable upgrades and program objects as NXDN one frequency with "Digital Code Search", this should discriminate DMR traffic on frequency. Alternatively you could choose to go the SDR route, DSDPlus Fastlane allows you to choose what protocols you want to monitor
