Thanks, but the flat rate repair is way too expensive for this issue. If it were a problem too difficult to diagnose without the service manual, or required a soldering station I do not have for surface mount I would gladly pay the repair fee. I am quite capable of replacing the connector, I just need to find one. I can find bulkhead connectors, but cannot be sure of the flange size and most I have found are gold colored. I don't think the gold colored connectors you find from China on eBay or Amazon are gold plated as so far most of them I have bought have tarnished.Maybe consider Uniden's flat rate repair?
TGhat way, if THEY F it up, it's on them.
Now thats a better view...
Thanks for the pics. Looks like there are two retainer nuts. One inside against the metal mounting bracket, then one outside against the plastic case. I may have to open the radio up and use a caliper to get dimensions. The length of the connector from the flange, and the diameter of the flange.
I have not used him for repair. I have ordered Uniden parts from him a few times before. Even a used selector switch for my BCD396XT was in excellent condition. He has had parts when Uniden was out of stock.Speaking of G & G Communications, has anyone used them for repairs? I hit the hyperlink for them and they say they are a repair station. Their rates seem to be cheaper that Uniden’s… but I’d call first for an estimate.
I've used him a couple of times to examine, bench test, and refurbish two Bearcat IVs. You pay for shipping to him along with any repairs but he pays for shipping back to you. Highly recommend.Speaking of G & G Communications, has anyone used them for repairs? I hit the hyperlink for them and they say they are a repair station.
