The bnc adapter provided works just fine. The 3rd party adapter has a better form factor for some users. Quick question do you own a SDS 100?Wow! Really? $650.00 for a radio and you have to pay some third party $10 plus shipping for and adapter so antennas can fit? SHEEEEEEEEESH, you cannot make this up!
No one sees any problems here? Can this company EVER release a radio without silly design flaws?
Maybe they should hire some of Unication's engineers?

No he doesn't. He just likes expressing fact-deficient opinions about Uniden.
From what I'm reading, the BNC adapter works. Analog works fine on my 436. I don't know for certain, but I sense a lot of FUD being spread in your post. You're darn tootin....... there is NO WAY I would dump $650.00 on a Uniden scanner based on the previous 436/536 debacles, especially as an early adopter.
Have any of the Uniden Engineers even looked at a G5? Battery size and usage time? size? etc.....? Performance?????
Has anyone seen the big fat rear end modified huge battery modification they made AFTER release? It's ridiculous. The thing heats up? Sure it does because they decided a christmas tree display with 9 thousand lights and excessive data would be a good idea. Unreal.
Numerous responding posters made my point....they gave you a BNC adapter that doesn't work!!! You have to buy a third party item to make it work. Think about that for a minute. The BNC adapter the engineers at Uniden provided DOES NOT WORK! LOL
And despite tons of hype about better simulcast reception, reports are that it is hot or miss depending upon your surrounding location and system. No better or worse than the 436. Apparently analog VHF and UHF sucks big time just like the 436.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice? No way.
Once does not need to own the unit to comment about what is being reported across the internet about a particular radio.
The supplied BNC that comes with sds100 works fine...
Even tho I have issues im learning more about intermod and finding frequencies that are provinf to be my main issue... mainly a cell tower direct los of my outdoor antenna and 2 nearby pager frequencies and 1 super nearby FM radio station and a longwire HF ham less then 300ft away.. (no pun Hams..)

It is no good on simulcast systems, but works well on everything else I have programmed into it.I had TWO 436s and they were BOTH horrific receivers. Maybe yours was built on the day where they were paying attention....
I am not spreading anything but the truth, and those who are honest with themselves will agree. The Uniden fanboys and others will convince themselves that this is a great unit to justify spending SIX HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS (or more if you want the upgrades), on a radio not perfected prior to release and marginally reliable to receive radio systems and frequencies dependent upon location and conditions.
We all know deep down that you CANNOT offer a wide banded frequency spectrum, and digital P2 and simulcast all in one radio and not expect it to suffer deficiencies somewhere. That is why Unication offers their units in limited frequency range offerings, and one reason why their receivers work so well, especially on simulcast systems.
Then why does everyone need to buy an adapter?
