I have 2 (800mhz EDACS) talk groups programmed into my SDS100. Both work by themselves but will not scan. The radio displays ID search until a signal is received then stops, but only on one of the talk groups never the other group. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please post the RR database link? Are you sure the other talkgroup isn't encrypted or that the agency(ies) you're after haven't upgraded to a new system? What software did you use to program? Too many unknowns

Talkgroups in trunked systems are never scanned. They are database lookups done when a talkgroup ID is broadcast on the control channel.

Hillsborough County Florida. Talk groups are 279 / 02-027 and 281 / 02-031 Neither one is encrypted. I use a GRE scanner sitting next to the SDS100 to monitor both talk groups.
Talk groups work when set separately. They also work on all 4 of my GRE scanners which I never had any problems programming.

Please ensure Law Dispatch & Law Talk service tags are enabled on the SDS100. Press function key & zip/services key. Scroll down to the service types I mentioned and ensure they are switched on

Did that when I programmed the radio the first, second, and fifth time!
I'm not new to programming, I program GRE scanners, Motorola radios, Kenwood radios and various other types of radios.
It's just very frustrating to spend in excess of $600 on a radio and not be able to find any good online support. The You Tube videos help some but.....
Very Frustrating Indeed

Perhaps it may be best for you to request this thread to be relocated to the Florida discussion forum (click Report link) then export & post your Sentinel file as an attachment. Maybe you'll find someone there who is familiar with the system and can check your programming with their SDS100?
Best of 73's!

Thanks for your help!
I think I'm just going to unload the radio. Too many other things I don't like about it.
I'll just chalk it up to a bad decision.

The SDS100 is a great scanner. Can you please export a hpe file of your favorites list so I can check your programming. That is under the File tab in Sentinel. You will have to right click on the file and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder.

Explain more how that seperate programming or operation mode differs from the one when you have both TG's in scanning?

Do you hold on to the system, department and then hold to TG's and scroll until you find that TG and you will then monitor conversations from it but not in normal scan mode?

Pretty much everyone has to climb the (somewhat steep) learning curve with these modern radios.
Heck, I returned my 1st TRX because I thought is was defective. Nope, it was me....

Hang in there. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be here, helping others in no time.....

Thanks to all who have replied. Although the radio does have many things I like, it also has many things I don't care for but I've come to think that the issue here is the Sentinel software. I downloaded a trial copy of the ARC536 PRO software last night and it was night and day better. I am going to give it a fair side by side trial with my GRE and M/A Com radios sitting next to the SDS100. Even though the software is a little bit expensive, if it works it will be worth the price.
Fingers crossed.....

This thing also has filters. For a couple of systems I monitor changing the filters made a night and day difference.
