My SDS-100 is my go to handheld when in the Bay Area now. Works great on all the big systems between EBRCS, SVRCS and San Francisco’s new P25 system. I would upgrade to the 800MHz REMTRONIX REM-820S Portable Antenna. Also would get Uniden Bearcat Battery & Charger Kit For SDS100 [EBC100] so you can have an extra battery and the external charger.

And be sure to get a decent case for it. As good as the SDS100 is, (I have one myself) the overall build quality in no way resembles that of what it aught to for a rather sophisticated device that wears a price tag approaching 700.00, less the necessary accessories to go along with it. I second Eng's recommendation on the Remtronix REM-820S RD antenna.

I forgot to say add in a case. I have the nylon case from Scanner Masters. The case works better if you take the button for the normal belt clip.
