I'm looking for the location of the serial # on the radio to upgrade key to DMR. I go the SN from the scanner filmware menu. Is the serial number under the battery?

Yes, but I thought the keys were based on the ESN in the menu.

Observe carefully if you are being asked for the Serial Number (SN) which is on the tag on the rear of the scanner, inside the battery compartment.... or the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) that is shown in the scanner's on-screen menu system along with the Checksum.

That is true but you need the scanner serial number to register it.
